Flowers, flowers everywhere, flowers, flowers in my hair!

I went to the craft fair we have yearly at our local park. It is absolutely huge!  May I tell you how many of the vendors have a type of flower they were selling. Some for nearly nothing, some for a lot!!!

So, the moral of my story today is make yours special. Make them with hi-quality fabrics, or fake flowers, use antique centers etc. For sure, be your own. Don't look at a flower at the craft store and say hmmm. I bet I could just glue that on a clip and sell it for 16 bucks at a craft show. Not really/ the other lady next you may sell her flower's for 15 dollars but because she has taken the time to sew the layers together, add no slippy- grippies, and taken much care in her presentation and detail! So therefore she earned her 16 dollars.

Also check on your size, smaller flowers aren't worth as much. My largest flower is 16, my small are about 7-8/ I also make linen and they go up in cost due to fabric prices.

So, if you think you are going to be the next big thing coming into the flower business, the market is a hard one, although as long as your good you will have money in your pockets, and flowers running through the craft fair advertising for you!

Good luck on the flower era- it is for sure a popular one!

A Girl's Best friend........

One of my favorite little girl's asked me to make her a notebook/journal. She herself is very artistic, so I dragged out my collections I thought she may like. Showed her my cricut options and her creative mind went flying! She picked several types of paper, told me a theme she would like to stick to etc.  then at the end she said"make however you think, I know I will like it!" Well I couldn't do that entirely I saw a vision in her, and I wanted to help her bring that out- unveil it on a project she could use to doodle to write in, to well do whatever her little creative mind thinks of!

So her we go- the what's and the how's.

I started off with a journal that was neutral in color and smaller in size.

We then picked her favorite pages from my collection, choose a theme.

I went from there, I used a glue stick made for wood- it stuck the paper down like a dream!

I then used coordinating ribbon to finish off the edges.

Then I used paper flower cut from my cricut, then used paper flowers white that I bought in bulk.
Added glitter with the Martha Stewart line. onto the flower. Then once dried used stickles to define the edges and added a rhinestone for the center.

After that I got out my chipboard letters added her first initial and added pearls and rhinestones all over the letter.

Then added all types of shapes and things I thought she would like. To inside, front and back- with the front being the most embellished.

Hope you enjoy! It is always nice making a gift for a young lady that you think is wonderful- it sure brightens their day!

I hope your day is nice and sunny and full of something that adds bliss to your life!

Summer Sweet Feet.....

I know it has been awhile, but must I tell you what a crazy few weeks I have had. I have had a BIG idea, that I will be working on- it probably will not surface for some time. I have had a house full of laughter and children- (more than my own.) I have been to so many Dr. appointments that it feels like my job- and honestly these days I am not sure what day it is! I have been working on organizing and secretly getting rid of my kids stuff! They collect it so quickly- I don't know how- we don't buy toys a lot. We usually buy (given my art back ground) stuff like coloring books and crayons or pencils, the occasional sticker. So how did my home start to feel smaller than I remember?

Although one thing wonderful about having the laughter in the house is two little girls always wanting their nails painted (who could say no) No matter how busy I may be!

So here is to summer sweet feet.......

New Project

You may have seen the project I took on for the library box and the cards for the purpose of finally having a place to put things like stamps, cards, business cards appointments, etc. really anything that could fit on a index card you could have a new spot that was tidy and neat for it!

Although this project was a pricey one- not only in the expensive box but in the decorative papers, extra glue, embellishments- need I go farther. Plus the time it took to finish this project was really much longer than I thought. Although, that said I think my friend will love her gift.

I got to thinking though if someone wanted to do this project with a different look you could do it, rather cheaply if you used the old papers you had and just maybe did a color theme, and embellishments to match and buy the cards only online through stampinton and company- I really am not sure of another vendor who carries them. Then get a wood box a foam brush, wood glue and paint- unless you have a color that would suit the cards you've made, that would be about it. You could print from your computer labels if you didn't want to write on your cards like I did.

So these pictures are what I came up with- I didn't change the outside of the card's although I made a different box to show you that you could make it a bit cheaper.

* I got my box at a store we have here in Washington called the craft warehouse and it was 40% off 3.99!

A Very Blissful idea!

How nice would it be to save money on your groceries like they do on T.V. well my darlings- I have ordered for a grand total of 17.00 plus shipping from fabulesslyfrugal.com the original price I believe is 37.00 but put in the coupon code save and bam! It takes it down and I somehow feel like I am starting to learn:)  Plus you can learn in your home rewind, fast forward and all that jazz! I am ashamed to tell you my grocery bill for a household of 4 people- partly to do with my demanding fresh foods out way the cardboard box crap!  So they said I should be getting it in a bout 5 days so ladies let the countdown begin.

You see I had tried to get into endless classes and they are always booked! These classes are so popular here I don't know about other states? If you had a chance to be Fabuloulessly frugal would you do so? Let me know what you think.

It is strange in some involving way that I opened this blog with the intent on helping others with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibro and also the healing works of crafts and I feel I have evolved into a lifestyle blog, simply about all my blissful finds, and crafts and makeup and a tad bit of everything.

Speaking of my cousins girlfriend runs a amazing blog called www.thevedahouse.com She even has a store connected which is a goal of mine someday- but I promise you would love the stuff- It is all very french farmhouse.  (my fav)  know I will be doing some shopping very soon there!

Happy Saturday - my plans today, maybe craft a little, relax in the gorgeous weather we are having and enjoy my family. grocery shopping today was a full time job! So relaxation is calling! Enjoy and thank you or Merci for reading!

I wanted to update you on my project!

Just in time for my dear friends birthday I think my project is nearing completion- a few last minute changes, but I have a mini file for everything from a business card to stamps to pre-made cards to send. There is a place for her to log birthdays and a place for her to track new recipes. I hope she likes it as much as I enjoyed making it! I think when you are making something intended for a person it puts an ease to making it, no stress because you know them so very well! Hope you enjoy the pictures!

I can't help but wonder what my next big project will be!

As I sit quietly

As I sit quietly looking at the lavender I just cut fresh from my garden, snuggled in my down comforter, my daughter napping. I got a bit curious about a designer on etsy. she too has a blog spot- twigs and honey- She is what I hope some day to become, a designer of all things of beauty and ornate detail. I started my artsy days with making linen flowers. They were unique and beautiful in their imperfections. I made them in hair pins and in brooches. I loved it. I expanded at one point and made my neighbor a 3 flower head band, so when I saw this ladies work I was in amazed at the fabulous laces and the flowers. Simply perfect. So it got me wondering why I stopped making those linen flowers, I think I need to start again, I have been re- purposed. I was not crazy after all/ there are people out there that will wear a gorgeous hair accessory. Please do not mis-understand I would never try to duplicate her work exactly, but when I saw it I got a push back in that direction. How gorgeous could I make my hair flair and accessories? We will have to see what the days bring.

This is what I love about what I do. One day you are making a handmade card and the next you are thinking about your flowers you made a few months back.

I am telling you though- check out twigs and honey- this designer is devine. Not to mention the way she betrays her brand, but everyone has there own touch. That is what makes our creativity individual- I could never re-create her work and well maybe she could recreate mine. It does make me reach a bit farther for that star I once saw shining.

Chasing dreams is something I hope to never stop.

To all of my Yogi friends~this one is for you

I am not sure if you have heard of a little DVD called yogalosophy - it was put out by Jennifer Aniston's  yoga instructor- which of course got me curious about it ( look at how fit she is!) so today was a yoga kind of day. I typically do traditional types of yoga, I have my blocks and my pretty mat and love to work on my body and mind at one time in my bare toes. I mean does it get better? There is something about the traditional form that I am in love with.  It is pure bliss- I am one of those that feels I get that yoga glow- that happiness that surrounds me and stays with me for long after, like I have a bubble surrounding me that no body can break.

But this yogalosophy was a all new adventure. The trainer is Mary Ingber and she is tough yoga- she turns yoga into a serious muscle workout! I thought when I ordered it, I was getting that blissful body workout that most yoga is about- although I have never done hot yoga (which I also hear is hard core). So you can imagine my surprise when I am doing squats with yoga mixed- but I like it. I will always be more inclined to do the basic yoga, but this is one great workout!

Although, here I am at 3:00 p.m. and I have done that video and Tracy Anderson's dance workout- showered did the whole lotion and blow out thing, flat ironed my hair, did dishes and have two kids tucked in bed to take naps- this is how a blissful day begins! After naps we are off to a cookout and fire works- although I already got my muscles fired up! Happy 4th to you all! I hope you enjoy your day and make it a special one. Even if that is just trying a new workout or maybe eating a red, white and blue cookie! That sounds so yummy! Bye for now.

A day full of bliss at the farmers market

The sun was shining, the booths were full of fabulously fresh vegetables and other homemade goods.  I purchased some gluten free fudge and lots of different types of veggies to make salads with. I have read a salad a day keeps the pounds away! We also stopped by my wonderful friends booth where she sold her famous granola- I swear I think everyone including myself in our neighborhood! She makes Gluten free vegan blends (the one I get) called running dummies blend, and a regular blend that I am unsure of the name of.

There were flowers around me and tables set up to tempt you to come take a look at their pastries! I took lots of pictures of our family fun filled day.

Today we have a picnic in store at the sprinkler park today and it is a gorgeous day to do it!

By the way I went to the salon that first introduced me to butter, where I got my nails sheliaced(love them!) So you will see the pictures I took of the polish displays - so pretty I hope I captured the beauty of  the product. I am new to trying to take excellent pictures for all of you!

I hope you enjoy the new pictures. Enjoy your day, with your mind, body and soul= a day of bliss.
